Around the World in 80 Landmarks--Over the Rainbow

Today is the start of a special Sunday series called "Around the World in 80 Landmarks". We're starting it off a region where the whole world is present. Every continent is represented in pictures and builds. The aerial view is actually a rainbow circling around the earth as terraformed by the creator!

It's really inspiring to see what the creative minds in SL come up with and I was very pleased to see Surreal Numbers' creation here! Thanks for kicking off our tour of RL places in SL!

Second Gijon, Spain

Now, I can't read everything here, but I can appreciate the beauty and detail in this real replication of Gijon, Spain. Even though they claim that it's still being worked on, this destination is not to miss.

Dresden Gallery

Dresden Gallery--Friday, August 24, 2007 LM of the Day (archived from Best of Second Life Blog) Dresden Gallery is a fabulous site for a number of reasons. First it is very big.Part of the plan seems to be to have some space all around so the Gallery can't be overwhelmed by malls and clubs. Second it is very beautiful and a faithful reproduction of the original architecture.Third, it has some fabulous art on display -- and the reproductions seem to be high quality. Anyone interested in seeing a state-of-the-art SL version of a RL place will enjoy a visit. THANKS Em Jannings for another great place! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dresden%20Gallery/81/120/361

*UPDATED APRIL 11, 2009* Many new improvements have been made to Dresden!
