Third World- serenity, beauty, escape

Jenn at Third World landing spot

So I'm sure you maybe thought, "will this site ever be active again?" Maybe you've even taken it off your RSS feed list. While I cannot promise you quanity, I still hold true to my quality promise. Plus, it's much easier to find things in world now, than it was several years ago. What once was a good idea, to get quality landmarks to a handful of friends, still remains a good idea, I just keep looking for the ones that really strike me as worthy of sending to you!

Patron and Patron Wilds-"An enigmatic place that's orientated to enjoyment"

Patron, by it's very nature is a place you'll want to explore. Not only are the art displays, architechture and surrounding gardens beautiful, but they are also a place to find solitude and contemplate. Along the way you'll surely find many of the treasures that, creator, Eliza Wierwight spends her time there building.

United Sailing Sims

About a week ago I got a notecard from SL Things to Do group member, Transparent Banshee, telling me about a group of sims called the United Sailing Sims. Here you can explore four sims, Greenhouse, Foliage, Mare Nostrum and Mar Menor. Surrounding these sims is the Blake Sea, and it makes a really wonderful place for photography.

While I was visiting and exploring I was most impressed by two separate things. The first being the Greenhouse area. I haven't been in such an exquisite greenhouse in Second Life before, and it was very reminiscent of greenhouses found only at the worlds best botanical gardens.

Sunset Myst

Artist and creator, Snowy Hoobinoo, emailed me a few weeks ago and asked if I had ever seen the sim Sunset Myst. "Sunset Myst is a Homestead sim that's primarily for showing Vlad
Bjornson's Floraprims products, but down in the valley is a Fantastical
collection of impossible plants and trees..."

Tempura Island

Whether you're looking for solitude or would like to explore another romantic place with that special someone, Tempura Island is the place to go. Some of the most rich textures I've seen in one sim in a long time are here. The grand building is spectacular as are the gardens and surrounding woods. There are many nooks and crannies to find a secluded spot for two, or you can gaze at the beautiful sunset alone and ponder your SLife! Truly a beautiful place to see!

I know this is not the most eloquent write up, but the pictures speak volumes!

SL Botanical Gardens

The Second Life Botanical Gardens are one of the most beautiful places on the grid for relaxation, introspection and peaceful repose. Comprised of plants and trees from many SL creators, this gorgeous sim boasts a lagoon at the base of a giant waterfall, cliffside balconies, a lookout from which to see the entire sim, wisdom from the mountaintop Buddha, and even a gondola ride along the river. Residents can even set the Gardens as their "home", and of course, weddings are permitted at the gardens. A truly beautiful sim you will come to enjoy time and time again.

Lost Gardens of Apollo

Well if you've not seen it before this one is for you. Lost Gardens of Apollo. A very romantic sim, but no funny stuff, so don't get any ideas!! :) The landscape is beautiful. The attractions are pleasant. If you're looking for places to talk with a special person or just with friends, then look no further. Also fun to explore for some solitude! Read a great write up here about creator Dane Zander http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2006/03/new_world_slurl_9.html  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Apollo/76/212/24
