You may be familiar with Scottius Polke's work in-world. Up to this point, most of his work has included scripted three dimensional works. His imagination always explodes in prim form and the viewer usually can sense this otter has a very vivid imagination.
Whenever you get an invite for an opening to a new art installation from any of SL premier artist/creators, don't miss it if you can help it. Douglas Story and Desdemona Enfield's newest installation, StormEye, is part immersion, part movie, part imagination, and all parts exceptional!
"Every year since 2005, Octoberville has topped the charts with SL's largest Halloween playground with lots of fun and prizes including haunted house, maze, autumn forest with marshmallow roasting and ghost stories, haunted train ride, and SL's largest scavenger Hunt and LOTS more! Come trick-or-treat at Octoberville!" This line taken from the group, Octoberville, couldn't say it better. Beginning its 4th Halloween season, Octoberville has some new things up it's sleeve this year. I sat down with one of the creators, Master Kaos, and asked him a few questions for you. Enjoy the conversation, I know I did. But most importantly, get over to Octoberville, pick up your sleuth notecbook, and begin your Octoberville journey!
Second Life's birthday is this month, and as always there's a celebration. Celebrating 5 years...wow! This year at SL5B, there are two creations that I'm particularly fond of. The first, by LittleToe Bartlett is called Down the Rabbit Hole. Very amusing and creative!
I got a note from Charlotte Bartlett on Saturday, and sent out a notice to the in-world group regarding a build she's recently completed. It's only going to be around for a week (week of June 9), so do take an opportunity to visit! Scarlett Creative has put together a Narnia for the residents of SL to visit and explore. I had a chance to pop in during some down time on Saturday, and found it to be most wonderous, must as the book describes! Please visit this before it's gone. You won't be disappointed!
Since it was a surprise LM of the Day, I asked friends of SL Things to do to contribute photos. A few sent me links to their flicker pages:
Kiana Writer and friends, Maya Platthy, Stray Underwood, Loch Harlan, Twstd Ruggles, and Gypsy Paz have created a wonderful game in Second Life called Zodiac Killer. Here you will have a hunt to find the killer of 12 people.
La Musique's game area is really a fun place to join friends for a quick backgammon challenge and other fun games! I havent' explored here but Sloan Skjellerup told me that it's worthy for a LM of the Day!
This post is a bit shorter than my usual, as I'm currently rushed off my feet preparing for the (OMG it starts tomorrow) vBusiness Expo!
I haven't had this much fun in SL in quite a while. I get so caught up in RL work here and this was the perfect diversion for me! The Red Stick International Animation Festival Hunt gives you over 50 LMs of places where RED STICK are hidden, and inside them are freebies from the designers. A really fun way to learn new shops, but also a fun way to explore with friends some of the interesting sims where this hunt leads you.
Madcow Cosmos has his high prim art on display at Callistei. His work (and his words) always make me think and chuckle! "Included are some of my favorite high prim beauties many of which I've never included in a display yet, so I'm happy to get them out of my inventory and get them some fresh air (and no, I have no idea what that smell in my inventory is from although I assume not everything I made started off as a skeleton)". See this exhibit before it's gone!
It's a Madcow Madhouse!
